Description:

Together with STEP, CME Defence will join the Prairies Trade Mission to DEFSEC Atlantic 2026 in Halifax  October 7, 2026 for a workshop on Quality and Traceability Basics for Aerospace & Defence Suppliers. This workshop helps participants understand why traceability is a strategic capability in Defence and Aerospace, not just a documentation requirement. It connects traceability to operational performance, compliance, customer confidence, and risk management, while giving participants a structured way to assess their current state and identify practical improvements.

What you will learn:

  • Explain the strategic importance of traceability in defence and aerospace operations, including its impact on compliance, quality, delivery confidence, risk reduction, and customer trust.
  • Identify critical traceability controls, decision points, and cross-functional dependencies across supply chain, production, quality, engineering, and program execution.
  • Evaluate their organization’s current traceability approachand prioritize operational actions to strengthen visibility, accountability, and lifecycle control, including application of the Defence and Aerospace pre-screening tool

Stephane Turbide, P.Eng., EMBA, is an operations executive and defence industry advisor with more than 30 years of leadership experience across aerospace, defence, advanced manufacturing, and industrial operations. As General Manager Operations at Pratt & Whitney, he led large-scale operations and transformation in a highly regulated environment. Now Principal Consultant at ST3P Consulting, he advises organizations on manufacturing strategy, operational excellence, governance, and resilience. Stephane brings a practical executive perspective to quality and traceability, showing how strong systems enhance compliance, reduce risk, improve operational performance, and strengthen customer confidence.
